Our Town 

Lancaster is known for its unique and diverse population. Amish and Mennonite communities still thrive amongst modern industry. The “Pennsylvania Dutch” who in actuality, are of German descent, make up a significant number of Lancaster “natives” but there are many more recent residents that have moved in from New York, New Jersey, & Maryland as well as from locales all over the world.  

Our economy is also very vibrant and diverse. Our rich agricultural history is still a very vital part of our economy. Our unique culture attracts visitors to our area which has created a thriving tourist industry. Antique stores, retail outlets, and entertainment parks all strengthen our local economy. In addition, Armstrong World Industries, a fortune 500 company, is head-quartered in Lancaster. As well as numerous health-care facilities that count as our largest employers.  

Lancaster is centrally located. We are less than a 4 hour drive north to NYC, or West to Pittsburgh. Baltimore, MD and Philadelphia, PA are less than one and a half hour drive. Washington DC is only 2.5 hours by car. Lancaster is easily accessible to most major highways of the Northeast and MidAtlantic region of the United States. We are also only minutes away from Harrisburg, Hershey, and York, PA.  

As far as living options, Lancaster County has it all. Charming historic down town areas in boroughs like Lititz, Columbia, Ephrata, Manheim, Marietta, Strasburg, and Lancaster City and sprawling family farms in our rural country side. We also have plenty of suburban subdivisions. There is still plenty of new home construction available and retirees are flocking to our numerous retirement and active adult communities.
